FOODS YOU NEED TO LOAD UP ON
TUNA.....
Tuna is a low-fat protein source. It's full of Vitamin B6 and B12, which aids digestion and stress, which is a reason people gain weight. How does it reduce stress?!? Well, when you're under pressure, your body releases cortisol. This cortisol sends a message to the brain that it needs to refuel itself, even if it doesn't need to. Leaving you feeling hungry. So, next time you're under stress, have a tuna salad - crazy how knowing scientific stuff can actually help your body, hey??
OATS.....
This is a soluble fibre. It not only fills you up, but it helps delay your stomach from emptying, leaving you feeling fuller longer. Very quick to make (can throw it in the microwave with a bit of water). Very satisfying leaving you feel full. If you've ever read the "Flat Belly Diet", this is one of the best foods they recommend. Eat up!
CHILLI or RED PEPPERS....
Me being a lover of Franks Red Hot and Tabasco Sauce, this is an easy one for me. But if not, maybe try throwing a bit of chilli pepper in your eggs in the morning. You'd be surprised the many ways you can incorporate it into your diet. The magic ingredient in chilli peppers is called capsacin. It actually helps suppress your appetite.
GRAPEFRUIT....
You either love 'em or you hate 'em it seems. But they have really good ingredients that do more in your body than you realize. Grapefruit actually reduce insulin spikes. This in turn, encourages weight loss because it aids your body in normal functioning.
and last one for the day...
COFFEE!!!!.....
Coffee seems to get mixed reviews all the time of whether its good for you or bad for you. The coffees that you buy today at coffee shops are loaded with quite a bit of fat and calories that it's so hard to see that it could actually be good for you. Here's the skinny on your skinny coffee. Coffee is the yummiest way (in my opinion) to get a good shot of caffeine. Coffee breaks down fat, which frees fatty acids which are burned off as fuel. When you combine caffeine with exercise, the conversion is 30% more efficient. The downside of drinking coffee is that it is dehydrating as everyone says, so if you are wanting the effects of coffee with your workout, drink coffee before your workout and then make sure you hydrate as you're working out and when you are done.
There's my two cents for the day. See if you can incorporate these foods into your diet today and see if it makes you feel a little bit better about your health today.
Lots of love,
Naomi.
